Make Up Class & Refund Policy

The Oasis Swim School does not offer make up classes for missed swimming lessons, we encourage you to utilise the student's membership. When you enrol your child/ren into swimming lessons you are securing your place in the program at your specific day and time for the duration of the term. We offer refunds depending on the situation, please complete a Cancellation/Family credit Application and send/drop off to reception. Your application will then be reviewed, we will be in contact if we need to discuss anything further regarding your application. The Application can be located online on our website or at reception.

  • There are no refunds for other sporting commitments, changing your mind about swimming or taking a holiday.
  • If your child sustains an injury or illness that prohibits participation in their lessons, we will give ‘Family Credit’ for the lessons missed - however a medical certificate will be needed to verify your child’s injury/illness.
  • Family Credit allows us to hold the remaining monies, until the family wishes to make another purchase. This can be any service within the business or carried over to lessons for the next term.
  • In extenuating circumstances, Oasis Management will look at alternative solutions with the family.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do swimming lessons costs?

Check our Fees and Policies page to find out our current costs.

What do we need to bring to swimming lessons?

Check out Levels and Skills page to see what you need to bring to your lesson.

Can we play in the other pools before or after our lesson?

Yes, you can certainly bring your child for a swim before or after their lesson however we encourage play swimming to be at the end of the lesson, so all students are full of energy for the lesson ahead. Play swimming is a great time to practice skills learnt during lessons. A play swim after their lessons can be good incentive for your child to try hard in their lesson.

However, play swimming is only allowed in the leisure area. We do not allow anyone in the ramp area of the program pool (lesson pool) before or after their lesson as this can be distracting to children currently in their lesson.

Can I take photos of my child during their class?

The Oasis permits the use of private photography during swimming lessons however we reserve the right to inspect, stop or delete any images/video material if we suspect inappropriate photography. No photography or video equipment including mobile phones permitted in the change facilities at any time.

Are all swim instructors qualified?

All swim instructors either hold their AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming, Water Safety or a Swim Australia teacher Certificate or Royal Life Saving.

Some instructors also hold additional qualifications, for example AUSTSWIM/Royal Life Saving teacher of infant aquatics, AUSTSIWM/Royal Life Saving teacher of competitive strokes AUSTSWIM/Royal Life Saving Teacher of All Abilities or Access and Inclusion and well as AUTSWIM/Royal Life Saving teacher of Adults.

How long will it take for my child to progress to the next level?

It is not uncommon for a child to remain in the same class for several sessions as all children learn different skills at different rates. It is important to ensure all skills are preformed competently before progressing to the next level.

May I request a specific teacher?

We endeavour to have the instructors assigned to each class as soon as possible. However as most of our instructors are university students, their university timetables change frequently, this may mean that the class appointed instructor might also change. We do help families if they request specifically a female or male teacher, please be flexible with your day and times.
