Active Kids Rebate
The NSW Government is helping kids get active with the Active Kids program.
The Active Kids program provides a voucher for parents, guardians and carers of school-enrolled children to use towards sport and active recreation costs each year, including swimming lessons.
Active Kids Rebate Q & A
Who is eligible to claim the voucher?
Every child (4.5 - 18 years’ old) enrolled in school from Kindergarten to Year 12 is eligible. This includes those who are homeschooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW. One voucher will be available for every child in your family annually over the next four years. The rebate is not means tested.
How long are the vouchers valid?
Each child is entitled to two vouchers per calendar year. Voucher 1 is valid January to December and Voucher 2 is valid July to December each year. Vouchers can only be used in the same year you obtain them.
Can I use the voucher for swimming lessons at the Oasis?
Yes, vouchers can be used for our Swim and Survive program as each term is longer than 8 weeks. If you would like to use your Active Kids Voucher you must enrol with a minimum of 8 weeks remaining for the term.
What can’t the voucher be used for?
Vouchers cannot be used for individual items such as sports equipment, accessories, etc. or programs that are less than 8 weeks’ duration.
How do you apply for a voucher?
Parents/guardians need to visit service.nsw.gov.au and create an account or login. From 31 January, you will be able to complete an Active Kids application through your MyServiceNSW account. You will receive a voucher with a unique ID number for each child you register.
Where can I find out more information?
We recommend that you visit service.nsw.gov.au/active-kids for information about the program before you apply for a voucher.
